Written 3 November 2026. The weapon picks here may not match this week's tracker meta. For current builds checked against the trackers, see the tier list.
Which Warzone A tier loadouts are worth using beyond the meta?
Everyone copies the Meta tier, which means the same handful of guns turn up in almost every lobby. The A tier is where the strong alternatives live: builds that rank just outside the top spots on the public tracker but still give you a competitive class. They are also a good way to level guns you have not used yet before Season 06: The Haunting ends. This guide covers nine A tier loadouts on LoadoutLab, with every attachment and the partner each one is paired with.
The short answer: the Peacekeeper MK1 is the best long range pick outside the meta, and the Sturmwolf 45 is the best close range one. Both sit at the top of the A tier for their role.
The A tier picks at a glance
- Peacekeeper MK1 - assault rifle, long range.
- M15 Mod 0 - assault rifle, long range.
- AK-27 - assault rifle, long range.
- TR51 Para - assault rifle, long range.
- Sturmwolf 45 - SMG, close range.
- Carbon 57 - SMG, close range.
- VST - SMG, close range.
- Akita - shotgun, close range.
- VS Recon - sniper rifle, sniper.
Why use an A tier loadout?
The gap between the bottom of the Meta tier and the top of the A tier is usually small. The tracker ranks guns by how they perform across the public meta, not by whether they will win your next fight, so a rifle you shoot well can beat a higher ranked one you do not. A tier builds are also less predictable for opponents, who are expecting the usual meta guns.
Peacekeeper MK1
The Peacekeeper MK1 sits at the top of the A tier for long range, fifth overall on the list, so it is the first rifle to try if the meta three do not suit your aim. Its build centres on the 25" EAM Heavy Barrel for reach, with an extended magazine rather than a drum, which keeps it a little lighter to handle.
- Optic: FANG HoverPoint ELO
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 25" EAM Heavy Barrel
- Magazine: Barrage Extended Mag
- Stock: MFS Counterforce-C1 Stock
LoadoutLab pairs it with the VMP.
M15 Mod 0
The M15 Mod 0 is a launch Black Ops 7 rifle that has held on at sixth for long range. If you levelled it early, it is still worth running, and the build keeps the same optic and suppressor as the meta rifles.
- Optic: FANG HoverPoint ELO
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 16" Reticulated Barrel
- Magazine: Bowen Bulwark Mag
- Stock: Bowen Linchpin Stock
LoadoutLab pairs it with the MPC-25.
AK-27
Eighth for long range, the AK-27 is the steady option. The VAS Convergence Foregrip and the Saber Pack Heavy Drum suit players who hold angles and want plenty of ammunition before reloading.
- Optic: FANG HoverPoint ELO
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 17.6" Vandal Heavy Barrel
- Underbarrel: VAS Convergence Foregrip
- Magazine: Saber Pack Heavy Drum
LoadoutLab pairs it with the VMP.
TR51 Para
The TR51 Para is the second new gun from the Season 06 battle pass and an A tier assault rifle. It is a sensible pick if you want something fresher than the rifles that have been around since launch.
- Optic: FANG HoverPoint ELO
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 18.5" MFS Fallen Angel Barrel
- Underbarrel: VAS Convergence Foregrip
- Magazine: Carus Capacity Mag
LoadoutLab pairs it with the VMP.
Sturmwolf 45
For close range, the Sturmwolf 45 sits top of the A tier, fifth overall and just behind the four meta SMGs. Its build drops the optic and uses an Envoy Foregrip with Extended Mag I.
- Muzzle: LTI Stentorian Brake
- Barrel: 11.5" LTI Ascendancy Barrel
- Underbarrel: Envoy Foregrip
- Magazine: Extended Mag I
- Stock: Itinerant Light Stock
LoadoutLab pairs it with the Voyak KT-3.
Carbon 57
Sixth for close range, the Carbon 57 runs a short, light barrel. It is an easy SMG to slot in if the VMP or MPC-25 do not feel right in your hands.
- Muzzle: LTI Stentorian Brake
- Barrel: 8.6" Orbital Light Barrel
- Underbarrel: Sapper Guard Handstop
- Magazine: MFS Renown Plus Mag
- Stock: Hammer Platoon Pad
LoadoutLab pairs it with the MK35 ISR.
VST
Seventh for close range, the VST is unusual in using a rear grip in place of a stock, which gives the build a different feel from the other SMGs here.
- Muzzle: LTI Stentorian Brake
- Barrel: 9.7" Enmity Barrel
- Underbarrel: EAM Steady-90 Grip
- Magazine: Avarice Extended Mag II
- Rear grip: Quiver Control Grip
LoadoutLab pairs it with the DS20 Mirage.
Akita
If you prefer a shotgun, the Akita is the highest ranked one this season, at thirteenth for close range. It is a specialist pick for buildings and tight rooms rather than an all round secondary.
- Muzzle: Full Bore-12
- Magazine: Bulk Feed Extended II
- Rear grip: Pioneer Blaze Grip
- Stock: Venomous Stock
- Laser: Redwell Tactical Laser
LoadoutLab pairs it with the Voyak KT-3.
VS Recon
The VS Recon is second on the sniper list and another launch Black Ops 7 rifle. It is the sniper to try if you want an alternative to the Strider 300.
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 23" G-Force Barrel
- Underbarrel: MFS R-Stop Handguard
- Rear grip: R-1 Shelf Grip
- Fire mod: 7.62 NATO Overpressured
LoadoutLab pairs it with the VMP.
Before Season 1 arrives
Modern Warfare 4 is reported to join Warzone with its Season 1 update on 6 November 2026. From then, guns from earlier games are reported to lose Gunsmith and use a fixed five attachment version, so the builds above stop applying in their current form. Until then, these are worth running, and the tier list will be updated as the new season settles. If you want the top of the list instead, read our guide to the Warzone meta loadouts before Season 1, or see the best LMG loadouts for the Sokol 545 and MK.78.
How to choose between them
- Choose the Peacekeeper MK1 if you want the strongest long range rifle outside the meta.
- Choose the AK-27 if you hold angles and want a large drum.
- Choose the Sturmwolf 45 if you want the best close range SMG after the meta four.
- Choose the Akita if you play inside buildings and like a shotgun.
- Choose the VS Recon if you snipe and want something other than the Strider 300.
