What are the best Warzone LMG loadouts right now?
Light machine guns rarely top the Warzone charts, and Season 06: The Haunting is no different. The three meta long range slots belong to assault rifles. That does not make LMGs a bad pick. They carry big magazines, hold steady on a beam and let you keep shooting through a squad without reloading at the worst moment. For players who like to hold a position, cover a rotation or suppress a building while a teammate pushes, an LMG still earns its place.
The short answer is this: the Sokol 545 is the best LMG on LoadoutLab right now. It is the highest ranked LMG this season at tenth on the long range list, and it sits in the A tier. The MK.78 is the second choice at thirteenth.
The best LMG loadouts on LoadoutLab
- Sokol 545 - best overall LMG, tenth for long range, paired with the MPC-25.
- MK.78 - best LMG for players who want a magnified optic, thirteenth for long range, paired with the VMP.
1) Sokol 545
The Sokol 545 build follows the same pattern as the meta rifles: a FANG HoverPoint ELO optic and a Monolithic Suppressor up front, then a heavy barrel for distance and a foregrip for control.
- Optic: FANG HoverPoint ELO
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 18.2" Parlous Heavy Barrel
- Underbarrel: VAS Convergence Foregrip
- Stock: Taction Control Stock
Pair it with the MPC-25, second on the close range list, so you have a fast drum fed SMG for clearing buildings when the fight closes in. The Sokol does the long work, the MPC-25 covers everything inside the doorway.
2) MK.78
The MK.78 is the LMG for players who would rather zoom in. It swaps the usual red dot style optic for a Greaves AccuSpot 3x, which suits holding long sightlines from rooftops and ridges.
- Optic: Greaves AccuSpot 3x
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: 22" Impulse HB-762 Barrel
- Underbarrel: VAS Convergence Foregrip
- Stock: Shock Shield Stock
Pair it with the VMP, the number one close range gun this season. The magnified optic leaves you slow up close, so a top tier SMG on the other slot is essential.
What about other LMGs?
The XM325 also appears on the tracker, at seventeenth for long range, but LoadoutLab does not carry a build for it this season. If you enjoy it, start from the Sokol 545 pattern above: suppressor, heavy barrel and a foregrip.
When to run an LMG over a meta rifle
- Choose an LMG if your role is to anchor a position, cover a teammate's rotation or hold a building while the zone closes.
- Choose an LMG if you often find yourself reloading in the middle of a squad fight with a standard magazine.
- Choose a meta rifle such as the Voyak KT-3 if you move constantly and want faster handling.
- Choose the MK.78 over the Sokol if you prefer a 3x optic for long sightlines.
A note on the next update
Modern Warfare 4 is reported to join Warzone with its Season 1 update on 6 November 2026. From then, guns from earlier games lose Gunsmith and use a fixed five attachment version, so builds like these may stop applying. We will refresh the tier list once the new meta settles.
Connection matters for long range fights
Holding a long sightline with an LMG relies on a stable connection. Some players use a VPN such as NordVPN or Surfshark to pick the server region they connect through, which can change ping and the lobbies they land in. Results depend on your line and location. Our best VPN for Warzone guide explains how it works and what to expect.
Our take
If you only copy one LMG class, copy the Sokol 545 with the MPC-25. It is the highest ranked LMG this season and its build mirrors what works on the meta rifles. Pick the MK.78 with the VMP if you want a magnified optic for holding long angles. For the rest of the long range picks, see our assault rifle meta.
